Book discussion: Bread and Roses, Too by Katherine Paterson

Bread and Roses, Too by Katherine Paterson is the Vermont Reads book for 2018. The book takes place in 1912, during the infamous mill worker strikes in Lawrence, Ma. Many children were sent to Barre, Vt., where families took them in to stay until the riots were over. The book follows the story of .... a young daughter of an immigrant family caught up in the strikes. Through a grant from the Vermont Humanities Council, we have several copies of the book available. Please pick one up the next time you are at the library, and join us for what promises to be a lively discussion! Discussion facilitated by library volunteer Emily Carbonetti.
